Phone.com Wins Award for Virtual Office Solution
Published January 29th, 2009 by Jennifer LeClaire
We’ve written quite a few posts here about virtual office providers that focus on 800 numbers and international numbers. Phone.com was one of them.
Phone.com is an online virtual phone company and portal, offering a suite of phone services designed for entrepreneurs, home offices, small businesses and households.
ABetterOffice.com congratulates Phone.com for its latest industry recognition. On Tuesday, the company announced that Technology Marketing Corporation’s Internet Telephony magazine has given Phone.com Virtual Office a 2008 Product of the Year Award.
“Internet Telephony is pleased to grant a 2008 Product of the Year Award to Phone.com for their Virtual Office. Phone.com has proven they are committed to quality and excellence while addressing real needs in the marketplace,” says Rich Tehrani, TMC President and Editor-in-Chief of Internet Telephony magazine. “We’re proud to honor their accomplishments in the advancement of IP communications and look forward to more innovative solutions from them in the future.”
Powered by advanced VoIP and SaaS technologies, Phone.com offers two Internet-based communications products: Phone.com Virtual Office for small businesses and Phone.com Home Phone for consumers. Monthly plans priced as low as $9.88.
Now, we’ll let Phone.com CEO Ari Rabban do a little well-deserved bragging.
“Phone.com Virtual Office offers small businesses or business units the capabilities of a full PBX, or switchboard, which are the hallmark of telecommunications productivity. Particularly in today’s economy, entrepreneurs are looking for excellent and reliable low-cost solutions. We proudly offer a lengthy list of features with superb reliability,” Rabban says. “We are so pleased to win the Internet Telephony Product of the Year award for the second year in a row, and our goal is to continue to win both this award and our customers’ loyalty for many years to come.”
A full list of Product of the Year winners will be published in the February, 2009 issue of Internet Telephony magazine. Internet Telephony has been an authority in IP communication since 1998.

Congratulations Phone.com. This is a neat company and I’m glad to see that it has been recognized. I think this virtual office provider is on a streak. It seems to win this award every year. I’d love to see the list of the other winners of the 800 number services and VoIP providers that were recognized.

Yeah, I’d like to see the list of winners, too. I just went on the website. We won’t find out which of Phone.com’s competitors made it on the list, or what new virtual office providers may have emerged, for a few more days.

Phone.com has a really low entry level package. I’ve not explored this virtual office provider much beyond that low-cost package. It really stands out from the crowd.
I can’t help thinking, though, that to really leverage the kinds of services we would need it would cost more like $99 a month in the end. Has anyone used Phone.com’s services first hand?

That’s a good question. I decided to check into it. You can actually get a virtual office with 2500 minutes, three phone numbers, 50 extensions and voicemail, forwarding, etc. for about 75 bucks a month.
But here’s the catch. Phone.com doesn’t seem to offer the premium business address. It doesn’t offer the receptionist to answer your calls. So that’s the difference that I can see.
