Corporate Suites Gives Virtual Office Web Site a Makeover
Published June 18th, 2009 by Jennifer LeClaire
We haven’t seen any official studies, but the rise of the virtual office in a down economy is more than anecdotal. Players in the executive office suites industry tell us this side of the business is healthy and growing. So it only makes since that companies are investing a little capital to retool their virtual office images.
Corporate Suites Business Centers is the latest company to put some shine on its virtual office persona. This leading provider of turnkey office space in Manhattan just launched a new virtual office Web site complete with a modern, chic design. (Those are the company’s words but since I like the purple-yellow combination and the user-friendly navigation, I’ll go with it.)
A virtual office is a convenient way for an individual or business to take on a prestigious Manhattan business address, access to conference rooms and business services including full telecom services, at a fraction of the cost to rent a physical office.
“We have seen a growing demand in the past few months from start-ups in New York City, and many other cities worldwide, which are looking for flexible office solutions,” says Hayim A. Grant, president of Corporate Suites Business Centers. “A start-up may not require an office right away, but having a 212 phone number, a central business address and immediate access to meeting space to meet with their clients, can greatly help them get their business off the ground.”
Conversion Design Principles
I have to admit, I didn’t see Corporate Suites Business Centers old virtual office Web site, so I can’t say how much of an improvement this new Web site is over its predecessor. From a Conversion Design standpoint – Conversion Design is a philosophy of Web design developed by Pedro Sostre that incorporates best practices in an effort to make sites both attractive and conversion-oriented – this site has some compelling earmarks.
For one thing, the navigation isn’t overwhelming to the end user. If you want to see the packages, the benefits for business continuity, the locations – or if you just want to order now – the navigation is clean and simple enough to take you where you want to go. The new Web site also lets customers select or customize a virtual office plan online or receive a real-time price quote – both conversion-friendly practices.
“The new Web site is another step for us to provide customers with outstanding service and save them time,” says Grant. “This turn-key way of reviewing and ordering a virtual office product, is transparent and the exact premise of our officing business.”
Hot Desking 101
To meet growing demand, Corporate Suites also introduced and expanded its hot desking and disaster recovery services. A hot desk provides a client traditional virtual office services as well as weekly access to a furnished office with Internet and phone access.
Ever since helping many businesses following the 2007 NYC steam pipe explosion, Corporate Suites has also expanded their disaster recovery services to include new technology and officing options, as part of their affordable virtual services offerings. I can think of a few companies in my home base of South Florida that would find this to be a valuable service, too.

Nice web site. I think it’s pretty slick and it does make it easy for folks to learn about the virtual office benefits. Nice online tools to make it easy to customize a virtual office plan. I didn’t see the old site either, but I’m guessing this new site is much more interactive than the old one. Corporate Business Suites is a classy operation.

Conversion Design. I hadn’t heard of that before. I’d like to know more about it. Web site design is so vital today — especially for virtual office providers. Think about it — most of the customers probably work from home and have a snappy web site. So they are going to look for a virtual office company that comes off just as professional as their own site — if not more.

I found the hot desk feature to be very interesting. That might not be a popular virtual office service in some parts of the country, but in cities that are prone to natural or man-made disasters, it could help avoid business interruption. It’s worth the investment and Corporate Business Suites is smart to bolster that virtual office offering right now.

I think it’s a very attractive Web site. It makes it easy for people who are trying to learn about virtual offices, their feature and their benefits, to do that quickly. It also entices you to order now by virtue of the tools and the call to action. I think visually it’s professional and pleasing. All things being equal, this website could help Corporate Business Suites compete more effectively on the virtual office services front.

What’s interesting to me is that their virtual office site, which is one of the pages on its regular web site for executive office suites and meeting rooms in Manhattan, look so much different than the other pages. That’s sort of startling when you click through and I think that is not ideal for the corporate image. They should have a similar look and feel across the site, or an entirely different site for the virtual offices.
