Want a Free Regus Executive Office Suite in Manhattan?

That headline got your attention, didn’t it? Who could refuse a free Regus executive office suite in Manhattan? Even Donald Trump probably wouldn’t turn that deal down.

Well, there’s a catch, of course. You have to win a sweepstakes to get the goods. Regus has kicked off a “Win an Office” sweepstakes for small business owners and entrepreneurs (sorry, Donald, I don’t think you qualify). The winner gets one free year of fully-furnished office space at any one of Regus’ 18 New York City executive office suite locations.

Interested? You’ve got between now and Dec. 31 to enter – and there’s no purchase necessary. It doesn’t matter if you’ve ever stepped foot inside a Regus, you can enter to win. All you have to do is fill out an entry form online at RegusNewYork.com or at participating Regus locations. As part of the contest, you’re encouraged to share a brief story about how your business could benefit from a Regus office. The winner will be announced Jan. 15, 2010.

Supporting Small Businesses
“Regus has always served as a resource for entrepreneurs and small business owners,” says Donna Scott, East Region Vice President for Regus. “Although we are seeing signs of the economic recovery, the past year has been particularly hard on independent professionals and small businesses. With this contest, we can offer our support to small businesses operators and help someone build or expand a successful business.”

Regus is well known for providing a full range of business-ready workplace products, including fully-furnished, fully-equipped private offices, meeting rooms with on-site business and administrative support services. Regus also offers virtual offices, giving entrepreneurs the opportunity to establish a presence in a new market with a high-profile business address and local telephone answering and mail handling services.

“Traditional office space in New York can be cost prohibitive and risky for business owners. Regus offers flexible solutions with flexible terms enabling businesses to stay nimble in times of economic uncertainty without compromising professional services and amenities,
Scott says. “We hope for the grand-prize winner of our contest, the cost savings on rent will be a tremendous catalyst for growing their business.”

Makes me wish I was in Manhattan. Any chance you think they might run a similar contest for free office space in Chicago? What a deal. I am not sure how the winners are selected. Is it the best story or just a random drawing. I bet they’ll get tens of thousands of participants. Great publicity stunt.

Wow. That’s a generous offer. Well worth the price of the awareness the Regus brand will receive, I’m sure. I mean, giving away a free office space in Manhattan for a whole year is enough to drive tons of traffic to the Regus New York Web site. They look like a good corporate citizen and the company that gets the free serviced office space will probably be a customer for life. Win-win.

Regus is great at marketing. This sweepstakes for a free office space in Manhattan proves it. They picked one of the highest profile locations in the world — a place where they have 18 serviced office facilities — to launch this contest. I haven’t seen anyone do anything quite like this in the executive suites field.

This really is a great campaign. And Regus will still earn revenue on services. Whoever wins this free serviced office space will probably spend plenty of money through the course of the year on ancillary services. So Regus still gets something out of the deal. This could turn into a great story is you get a really innovative company in there that hits it big and later gives some thanks to Regus for helping them get off the ground.
