Sunshine Realty Management Hits Inc. 5000 List
Published August 27th, 2009 by Jennifer LeClaire
In a week of celebrations for the alternative office industry, Sunshine Realty Management has landed a spot on Inc. magazine’s list of fastest growing companies in America. Sunshine Realty Management, operator of Sunshine Suites in New York, ranked 959 on the Inc. 5000 list.
Sunshine Suites is a community-based shared office space with two locations in Manhattan. With Sunshine, you get a complete professional office environment included in one low monthly fee – charged per person per month. Sunshine furnishes and maintains your office space and offers free or low cost services that aim to free you up from the day-to-day administrative tasks that distract you from your core business.
Like many companies in the executive office suites industry, when you office at Sunshine Suites you don’t need to hire an office staff, pay for building out your space, sign a long-term office lease, or buy or rent office equipment. Sunshine takes all the pain out of officing.
Sunshine Realty Management posted 318.6 percent growth between 2005 and 2008. When you compare Sunshine’s growth rate during that period with the growth rate of the average company in the real estate industry, the results are striking. Sunshine outperformed the industry by 128.7 percent. The average growth of the industry was an impressive 189.9 percent.
Sunshine’s light shined even brighter in its home region. The company ranked 74 in the New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island area and number 15 in the real estate category overall. Sunshine was founded in 2001 and by 2005 the company’s revenues reached $966, 347. In 2008, Sunshine posted $4 million in revenues – and all with only 20 employees.
(Earlier this week, I wrote about Corporate Suites Business Centers ranking 2,247th on the Inc. 5000 list.)
aBetterOffice.com congratulates Sunshine Suites. Keep on growing!

Wow. What a week. Who else is going to get honored with office rental kudos this summer? I think it’s about time companies in the serviced office space get recognized. This industry has been around for a while and so misunderstood. Now is the time for the light to shine on the leading companies. Congratulations to Sunshine Suites!!!!

I had to stumble upon this myself. I am surprised Sunshine Suites isn’t making a bigger deal about it. They should be trumpeting this accomplishment all over their web site. They really need to take advantage of this. Getting on the Inc. list is absolutely huge! If I’m ever up in New York, I’ve got to visit this business center. It sounds fab.

Nearly 320 percent growth is phenomenal. I am betting many other companies in the serviced office space have a similar story to tell and just aren’t telling it. Landing on a list like this is great publicity. The lists aren’t entirely accurate because there’s so many companies that don’t even apply to the Inc. 5000 that might actually qualify if they did. But it’s still interesting. My congratulations to Sunshine Suites.

With only two locations, I can’t fathom how they are generating so much revenue. They must have a lot of office space and sell a lot of administrative services. Of course, that is revenues and not profits. Could be a completely different story there. In any case, it’s great to see companies in the executive office suites industry getting on the radar screen of magazines like Inc.

Marcus – I’ve toured Sunshine, and they can generate that much revenue because the space is quite large. I don’t remember how many square feet but they have 600 or so workstations.
