Stark Business Solutions Expands to New York City

Stark Business Solutions isn’t wasting any time in 2010. The executive office suites company is off and running with an acquisition to start the year off in growth mode. On Monday, Stark said it has acquired “certain business center assets” of Lincoln Suites, Inc. It’s not clear specifically what that means, but it appears that Stark may be taking over the lease but continue to operate under the Lincoln brand.

“In the past several months we considered many companies to partner with. We are confident that we made the best decision for our clients and our brand by selecting Stark Business Solutions,” says Peter Rosten, president of Lincoln Suites. “The quality and professionalism that Stark represents will position Lincoln Suites and its clients to thrive.”

Lincoln Suites is located at One Grand Central Place – formerly known as The Lincoln Building – at 60 East 42nd Street. With the addition of this new site to its portfolio, Stark enters the Manhattan office space for the first time – and does so with a bang. The company also has serviced office space in White Plains, Scarsdale Village, Mount Kisco and Harrison.

Lincoln Suites spans more than 24,000-square-feet – that’s two full tower floors – in the heart of New York City. The 55-story office tower recently underwent an $85 million renovation and offers bird’s eye views of Manhattan from the 46th and 47th floor. Serviced office tenants also enjoy in-building access to Grand Central Terminal.

“Expanding to New York City was a strategic decision that we know will greatly benefit our Westchester clients, many of whom frequently conduct business in the City and will take advantage of the added services, including a desirable Manhattan phone number, address and meeting space,” says Adam Stark, president of Stark Business Solutions. “At the same time, we believe our solution will enhance the strong offering that Lincoln Suites clients are currently receiving by providing them with advanced technology and enhanced service offerings.”

It looks like Stark is going to continue its “roll.” Since its opened its executive suites doors in 2004, Stark has grown steadily and significantly. Stark currently has more than 300 clients, and reports a 25 percent increase in revenues in 2009. In keeping with its other locations, Stark’s Manhattan office space will offer also full-time and virtual office options, multiple conference room venues and state-of-the-art technology including a complete fiber-optic solution.

“Stark is more than just customizable office space. We strive to create a community in which successful professionals and entrepreneurs can network, build relationships and grow their business,” Ben Blumberg, partner and executive vice president of Stark Business Solutions. “The Lincoln Suites and Stark cultures are similar and we are excited to see the synergies between them.”

Wow. Big move from a somewhat local provider to find its way onto Manhattan’s serviced office scene. It looks like Stark is probably using Lincoln’s management structure and employees, etc., and just taking over the lease, as you suggested. It’s a little confusing because it won’t be called Stark, but it must have been an attractive deal financially for both parties involved. Hard to tell what’s going on when the companies won’t discuss the terms of the deal.

Talk about a strategic location. Stark really hit the ball out of the serviced office park on this one. A newly renovated building, two floors of office space, access to Grand Central… This is a great way to enter Manhattan’s executive office scene. It will be interesting to see if this partnership, though, is as fruitful as Stark’s solo projects. It looks like Lincoln Suites still has some involvement with this.
