Servcorp Chooses Buckhead as US Corporate Headquarters

Servcorp isn’t just focusing on the Atlanta area as a prime location for serviced office space—the company is actually taking up residence there. Servcorp will make Buckhead its US corporate headquarters as it amps up its expansion strategy stateside.

The expansion plans—and the US corporate headquarters selections—spell job opportunities for workers in major metropolitan cities, starting with Atlanta. For example, Servcorp’s Atlanta serviced office projects are expected to create 21 new jobs, including 18 hires at the Buckhead corporate headquarters and three new positions at the Midtown office.

Servcorp’s Atlanta executive suites and virtual offices—one at Terminus 200 and the other at 12th & Midtown—comes on the heels of Servcorp’s Chicago expansion with two Chicago locations, 155 North Wacker and 300 North LaSalle. Servcorp has filled six job positions in the Chicago area.

“With the strong demand for business people and companies such as Internet-based businesses to telecommute and have the ability to service their clients from remote locations, it’s no surprise that Servcorp is expanding and as a result, hiring,” says Jennifer Goodwyn, vice president and general manager of Servcorp USA.

But Servcorp isn’t stopping with its hiring spree in Atlanta and Chicago. Servcorp, which bills itself as the world’s leading provider of executive office suites and virtual office space to start-ups, home businesses, small and mid-sized businesses and corporations, says it will create more than 75 jobs in 14 US markets by the end of 2010.

“In this economic environment, we’re thrilled to be offering first-rate job opportunities for professionals looking for work in the virtual office industry,” Goodwyn says. Servcorp will fill those jobs one by one during Phase 1 of its US expansion plan. Here is the outline of Servcorp’s US plans for 2010.

  • Chicago, IL – West Loop & North River (already opened)
  • Atlanta, GA – Buckhead & Midtown (already opened)
  • New York City, NY – Two Midtown locations
  • Tysons, VA – Tysons Corner
  • Washington, DC – Downtown & East End
  • Philadelphia, PA – Downtown
  • New York City, NY – Park Ave
  • Dallas, TX – Galleria & Highland Park
  • Houston, TX – Galleria & Downtown
  • Boston, MA – Downtown

These are aggressive plans indeed, and it makes sense for Servcorp to finally settle down in the US with its own corporate headquarters. The move to establish a permanent presence in the US should signal to the executive office suites industry—if the aggressive expansion plans didn’t already—that Servcorp is serious about making its mark in major metropolitan cities. Servcorp has not yet announced plans for 2011, but be assured that the company is already scouting sites and possibly negotiating leases for additional serviced office space in areas where the industry has already gained traction—and maybe even a few areas where it hasn’t.

Agressive. I like it. I agree with you. Servcorp should be taken much more seriously with a corporate headquarters in the United States. This just makes good sense. I am not sure the 74 jobs is anything to write home about, but the rapid expansion into the U.S. serviced office space is, and the headquarters just beefs up the company’s credibility.

It will be interesting to see if Servcorp continues its rapid U.S. expansion in 2011. The commercial real estate market won’t be fully recovered then, so they could probably still get some good lease deals. But they are moving at a Regus-like pace in the U.S. I don’t know how well capitalized they are, but they appear to be in this for the long haul.
