Resource Exchange of America Chooses Regus Sarasota
Published August 20th, 2010 by Jennifer LeClaire
Another week, another Regus win. Regus doesn’t typically announce lease deals, unless they are major wins from Fortune 500 companies. But it wasn’t Regus that announced it—it was the company moving into the office space that wanted to let the world know about its new location in Sarasota.
Regus has inked a serviced office agreement with Resource Exchange of America Corporation (REAC), a Sarasota, Fla.-based recycling company. This is no Earth Day promotion. Rather, it’s a move by the recycling company to create a single base for its eco-friendly operations.
“The decision to amalgamate our executive offices to a nationally known executive office center presents an opportunity to reassess our direction, while at the same time reducing overhead,” says Dana Pekas, CEO of REAC. “Regus offers an unparalleled access to executive offices worldwide, creating an ideal environment for growth in the future.”
That’s quite a testimonial for Regus—and REAC hasn’t even moved in yet. It’s not clear whether REAC has used Regus executive office space before. But the company expressly stated that it needed to migrate its executive offices and corporate support functions to a single company. Regus won the contest.
REAC had plenty of other options in the Tampa region. REAC could have rented office space at Sarasota Executive Suites, the Executive Suites at Lakewood Ranch, or Palmer Office Executive Suites. All of them are fine choices in their local markets, but none of them offer the big brand name or international reach Regus brings to the serviced office table.
Sarasota Executive Suites, for example, is located in a strip center. Palmer Office Executive Suites is in a business center that’s a bit more upscale, but still doesn’t match the professionalism of a Regus location. Regus’ Sarasota office space is on Main Street in the contemporary high-rise Synovus building. That’s one of the most coveted office space locations in Sarasota. The rents may be a little higher at Regus than its smaller competitors, but Regus also offers the prime location and business support services that justify the expense for many growing companies.
Regus currently operates across a network spanning 75 countries, including 450 cities and 1,000 individual locations, and their client base includes Fortune 500 companies. Regus’ service offers flexible terms and exclusive benefits for corporate clients. Regus can supply locations offering up to 3,000 square feet of office space, attracting a range of corporate clients as well as start-ups and SMEs.
“Regus executive office centers offer an unrivaled amount of choice when it comes to business support, including prime global locations, state of the art facilities and full IT support,” Pekas says. “For us, partnering with Regus was the obvious choice, both for our current and long-term business needs.”

Looks like this recycling company is pretty proud to be officing at Regus. I didn’t see any reaction from Regus here, so I am guessing this is probably not a big deal to them–just another office space lease. REAC should be happy in Regus’ Sarasota office space. This is definitely a strategic location on Main Street.

It’s still a nice win for Regus, especially when you consider the tenant was excited enough about the new office space to brag about it. You can bet this company will bring Regus business through word of mouth, or at least try to. I think this is also an example where Regus’ commitment to top quality buildings paid off. Sounds like the Sarasota competitors are small outfits in strip centers.
