Regus Strikes Strategic Alliance with AESC

On the heels of a partnership with BlueSteps, Regus stuck yet another strategic alliance. This time it’s with the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC), the worldwide professional association for the retained executive search industry.

The Regus-AESC alliance gives association members most of the same benefits BlueSteps members are now enjoying. For starters, AESC members get access to the Regus global network of business center office space and discounts on meeting rooms and video conferencing facilities.

“Our Businessworld membership program is perfect for AESC member firms, because not only do they receive access to high-profile, professional workplace environments all over the world, but they also receive preferred rates on our meeting rooms and videoconferencing facilities,” explains Michael Haas, senior director of Partnerships for Regus. “AESC member firms know with Regus they will receive a consistent five-star environment in which they can hold meetings and conduct interviews, regardless of where they are doing business.”

AESC members can immediately tap into six months of membership into Regus’ Businessworld Gold program – absolutely free. The program gives users a pass to more than 1,000 Internet-equipped Regus business lounges in 450 cities worldwide. AESC members also get two free months on any Regus Virtual Office package, which includes a prestigious business address, personalized telephone answering services, and a local phone number; and one-free month on any full-time, fully furnished office.

“The AESC is excited to be able to offer these great benefits to our members and pleased to partner with Regus. Due to the nature of executive search consulting, our members frequently require remote business offices or video conferencing for interviewing senior executive candidates and Regus offers top quality for both,” said Glenda Brown, Director of Strategic Partnerships for the AESC. “We are confident that this new alliance will be of great value to our valued AESC members globally.”

Regus is getting access to a great new audience. The AESC’s mission is to promote the highest professional standards in retained executive search consulting, broaden public understanding of the executive search process, and serve as an advocate for the interests of its member firms. The AESC is recognized by the United States Government and the European Commission as the representative body for the retained executive search industry.

AESC members range in size from small boutique search firms, to mid-size firms and large global organizations. In total AESC members employ some 6,000 search professionals in 1000 offices in 70 countries worldwide.

Regus is really knocking out these strategic alliances one after another. It looks like the latest strategy is to hook up with recruiting and executive associations. What interests me most is why the other serviced office companies don’t get on board with more alliances. Regus is moving so fast in this area and it’s going to pay off for them. Will the other brands be left behind?

Regus certainly is hitting the executive ranks hard. It’s a strategy, as I see it, to reach displaced execs. Although the lower ranking workers may have been the first to go at many companies, there could be a wave of executive layoffs coming in 2010 if sectors of the economy don’t recovery. Regus is positioning itself as the go-to company for office space and virtual offices with this group.
