Regus Sports Football Legends at Chicago Area Open House
Published May 6th, 2009 by Jennifer LeClaire
If it’s one thing Regus does well, it’s create a buzz. This time, it’s relying on football legends to help it drive traffic to its newly renovated Wacker executive office suites location.
Call it a celebration. Now that the 200 South Wacker Regus business center is donning a new look and plenty of new high-tech bells and whistles, the company is throwing a party that lets Chicago area residents meet and greet the likes of Mike Ditka, Gale Sayers, Dan Hampton and Steve McMichael.
All four football greats will be on hand at the open house to sign autographs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday. Broadcasting legend Chuck Swirsky will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event. During the Open House event Regus will make a donation to the Gridiron Greats Fund, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to retired professional football players.
A Serviced Office Renovation
Regus has 29 serviced office locations in the Chicago area. The 200 South Wacker location was its first. According to Regus, the newly renovated center features a completely remodeled, business-ready environment ready to serve small businesses with flexible lease options.
“Clients selecting our newly renovated 200 South Wacker center will have the opportunity to have a state-of-the-art, fully equipped office in a great location at a fraction of the cost of leasing and outfitting their own office space,” says Jeff Doughman, regional vice president for Regus.
“The flexibility that we provide our clients will allow them to limit risk, reduce overhead and improve the bottom line in this uncertain economic environment,” he continues. “This newly-saved capital can be re-directed back into other areas to help grow their business.”
A Dallas Hiring Spree
While Regus is hobnobbing with football greats in Chicago, it’s recruiting employees in Dallas. Regus is hiring 50 people for its corporate office to fill several billing and debt collection positions. Regus is holding a job fair on-site at its corporate offices today from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“We’re delighted that we can make a positive contribution to the local economy by adding jobs in such a tough economic environment,” says Sharon Edmondson, vice president of Human Resources for Regus. “The positions we’re looking to fill range from entry-level to intermediate. Although appointments aren’t necessary, we’re expecting a large turnout so we’re asking all interested applicants to RSVP so that we can forward them applications in advance.”
Interested professionals should RSVP to Olga West at olga.west at regus.com or via telephone by calling 1-888-REGUSHR, press Option 1. Professional attire is required for the interviews.

I used to be impressed with these sorts of appearances. Then I discovered that it’s not hard to get celebrities at events if you are donating to a cause they represent. You can also pay professional speakers to show up at your event. Still, congrats to Regus for its renovated serviced office space. The company shows a commitment to staying on the cutting edge of the executive office suites industry.

Rob, wow. You are cynical. I am sure you are right, though. You can pay for professional appearances. That’s what speaker bureaus are for. This is still a great marketing ploy for Regus to draw folks to its renovated serviced office facilities, though. Everybody loves football stars and autographs. Regus sets a great example for companies in the executive office suites industry from a marketing perspective.

I wonder if we’ll see a wave of renovations from Regus. How old are their serviced offices in the U.S.? I’ve read on this site about how companies in the executive office suites industry need to stay up to date with facilities and technologies. Looks like that’s what Regus is doing here with its renovated serviced offices near Chicago.
