Regus Runs ‘Show Us Your Office’ Contest
Published August 19th, 2010 by Jennifer LeClaire
Regus is getting ready to give away more office space. As part of its national “Fall New Way to Work” campaign that will run in United States markets at the beginning of September, Regus has launched a “Show Us Your Office” contest. The winner will get a free, fully furnished office space for a year at the location of their choice.
How do you enter? Just show Regus your office. Maybe you work from a coffee shop. Maybe you spend most of your business hours working in airport lounges. Heck, I even officed in a large walk in closet during my early days as a writer. Regus wants to see your office, or whatever you are using for a makeshift office.
“A study we recently conducted found that 72 percent of U.S. respondents lack confidence in a business without professional space. It’s clear that working from the local coffee shop or in the park just won’t do for companies trying to attract investments and grow their businesses,” says Guillermo Rotman, CEO of Regus Americas. “We’re happy to be able to help companies put their best foot forward.”
Show Me Your Office!
Here’s how it works: Take a video or a photo of your office space in all its glory. Then visit www.showusyouroffice.com and upload the materials. Be sure your photo or video clearly shows how office-challenged you really are. Let the picture or video speak a thousand words or so about how cramped you are or how inadequate the work environment is. And don’t forget to talk up how a Regus serviced office space would help your business. You can enter to win until Oct. 31. The winner will be announced in November.
If your office space serves you well, you can still play a role in selecting the winner. Regus is going all out in true social networking style with the “Show Us Your Office” contest by inviting people to vote for their favorite entries. John Q. Public will ultimately decide the top 10 finalists. Then Regus will be the final judge as to which struggling entrepreneur gets the big prize.
Even better news: there is ultimately more than one winner. Beyond the grand prize of free office space for a year, Regus is giving the nine runner-ups a free virtual office plus package. That affords them a virtual office space and five days a month of private office space time at any Regus business center in the U.S., a prestigious business address, and professional phone handling services.
Regus’ Multimedia Contest
Perhaps the winners will have a similar story to Pam Chmiel, the co-founder of Teen Entrepreneur Boot Camp. She won a free year of office space from Regus earlier this year.
“Winning the ‘Win an Office’ Sweepstakes in 2009 completely changed our organization, giving us prestigious office space and helping to attract more budding teenage entrepreneurs to participate in our camps,” Chmiel says. “Using Regus’ services has truly affected the trajectory of our business, and I’m excited for another company to experience the productivity and growth ours has in the past year thanks to professional Regus office space.”
Of all the Regus contests I’ve seen, I like this one the best. It generates user interaction not just from the folks vying for the free office space, but from all their friends and others who are voting on the winner. We’ve seen from American Idol and other such shows that people like to be part of the voting process. Regus has tapped into the best elements of social interaction with this contest. It will be interesting to see how many votes they tally—and how much brand awareness that generates.

Great contest! I can’t imagine some of the creative submissions for office space they are going to get. I do bet that some folks will flub it, offering pictures or videos of office space that’s not really where they work from. It should be interesting to see what people submit. This is one of those really fun contests that should draw a lot of attention.

Ha ha. I just went to the web site listed in the article to see what types of office space people are working from. Right now, the wedding planner who works from a home office is leading the votes with 19. Of course, the contest just launched. I bet she got all her friends and former clients to vote for her. This is a brilliant contest.
