Regus Offers Free Office Space to Bay Area Non-Profit
Published June 7th, 2010 by Jennifer LeClaire
In what marks the final in a string of free office giveaways, Regus has named the winner of its 2010 Bay Area “Win an Office” sweepstakes. And the winner is (drum roll please…) San Francisco entrepreneur Lisa McFadin.
McFadin will go down in Regus history as the winner of a full year of free office space, fully furnished and fully equipped. She chose to office at 505 Montgomery St. in San Francisco, a strategic location for her companies. This office space is at the corner of Montgomery and Sacramento—the heart of the city’s financial district—in a 24-story building with plenty of amenities and great views.
“Winning this office through Regus gives us a much-needed headquarters for our organization,” McFadin says. “This really allows us to do so many wonderful things for people that really need our help. Haiti needs compassionate citizens to share their experiences and knowledge, so they can build a better and brighter future for themselves. I am truly thankful to have this opportunity through Regus.”
McFadin is the founder of two local companies. The first is Helping Hands for a Sustainable Haiti, an organization that works to bring resources and people to help the people of Haiti rebuild their lives. She also runs Green Venues, which educates corporations and the community on smart sustainability.
McFadin recently returned from Haiti, where she worked to help victims devastated by January’s earthquake. Helping Hands for a Sustainable Haiti works with an extensive network of other charitable organizations, including actor Sean Penn’s JP HRO, to find shelter for those displaced throughout the most ravaged areas.
“Regus is excited to have a part in this wonderful project,” says Bonnie Greco, area director for Regus Bay Area. “We hope Lisa McFadin and her great organizations will benefit immensely by having the chance to focus on their charitable efforts and not on the high-cost of leasing that comes along with traditional office spaces.”
Regus gets to feel doubly good because the winner of the San Francisco office space is helping earthquake victims in Haiti. I’m still not sure what set McFadin apart from the other contestants in the eyes of Regus. But it’s hard to imagine a better candidate for free office space than someone who is doing non-profit work.

Great assessment, Jennifer. Regus gets double brownie points for this one! Giving away free office space is awesome. But giving it to a company that’s actually out there doing so much to help people in need is even better. And what a location. That is a great location in downtown San Francisco. I can see why McFadin is thrilled.

Regus is a master spin machine. They really know how to do PR the right way. Giving away free office space is getting them mega attention in the local markets in which they do business. The word of mouth marketing alone is worth the free year of office rent they are foregoing. San Franciso is a key market for executive suites, too, so I can see why they chose this a a location to offer the free office space.
