Regus Inks Strategic Alliance with BlueSteps

Looks like Regus isn’t finished striking new partnerships in 2009. With less than six weeks to go until we ring in the new year, Regus is still working to make 2009 the year of the serviced office strategic alliance.

The executive suites giant’s latest partnership is with a career management service that provides senior executives with opportunities to get noticed by leading executive search firms. That firm is called BlueSteps.

Regus and BlueSteps will work together to help senior executives who are looking for work – or who are looking for a better opportunity – find their next position. For its part, Regus will offer BlueSteps members access to high profile office space, meeting rooms and its suite of professional administrative services. All this comes through complimentary Regus Businessworld membership.

“Our Businessworld membership program provides thousands of busy professionals instant access to prestigious office space in business hubs all over the world,” says Michael Haas, senior director of partnerships for Regus Americas. “Now not only can BlueSteps executive members take advantage of our Businessworld program, but they can also have a convenient, professional environment in which to work, and a great place to network with other executives.”

So here’s the deal: BlueSteps members get six months complimentary membership in Regus’ Businessworld Gold program. That opens the door to more than 1,000 Internet-equipped Regus business lounges in 450 cities worldwide. BlueSteps members also get two complimentary months on any Regus Virtual Office package, which include a business address, personalized telephone answering services, and a local phone number. Finally, BlueSteps members get one-free month on any full-time, fully furnished office.

Regus is clearly hoping BlueSteps members renew their Businessworld membership and keep using Regus offices. There’s no guarantee that will happen, but Regus has a lot to gain and not much to lose with this high-profile partnership. For BlueSteps part, the company gives Regus access to a new customer base, and potentially a new revenue stream.

BlueSteps has over 50,000 senior executive members who earn an average of $250,000 per year and have at least 10 years of management experience. BlueSteps members have access to hidden executive employment opportunities that are never advertised to the public through online job boards or contingency recruiters.

“We are thrilled to partner with Regus to bring the Businessworld Gold program to BlueSteps executive members,” says Della Giles, director of BlueSteps. “BlueSteps members are located in more than 70 countries, and the global reach of Regus allows us to deliver value to our executive membership worldwide.”

Looks like a good deal for everybody involved. These high-dollar execs have the money to invest in a start-up serviced office for a new venture and Regus can potentially get their attention with lower cost office space. Regus seems to be getting smarter and smarter with its alliances.

Wow. This is a pretty cool alliance. Looks like a win-win for Regus and BlueSteps members. What I like about this is that the execs get a free month of executive office space. I am assuming that comes with a contract, but still… What would be even better is the ability to get out of the contract after the first 30 days if they didn’t like the experience. Something to consider, Regus…
