Regus Inks Lease for Kansas City Executive Suites
Published December 10th, 2009 by Jennifer LeClaire
The Regus Group continues its roll in 2009 with a new announcement that should put a smile on the faces of companies looking for alternative office space solutions in Kansas City.
Regus inked a new lease deal in the Missouri city that paves the way for 55 executive suites and one board room in a 12,000-square-foot project. Specifically, Regus signed an 11-year lease with Steiner + Associates, putting the serviced office giant in a strategic position to pay lower lease rates over a long term.
Regus is readying for growth in 2010. Michael Berretta, vice president of Business Development for Regus, said he continues to see companies of all sizes requesting flexible, cost-effective options that traditional office leases can’t offer. That demand is fueling Regus’ aggressive growth strategy.
“We’re increasingly locating our centers in mixed-use environments like Zona Rosa Town Center to provide our clients with flexible options that will allow them to work closer to where they live,” Berretta says. “In addition to it’s great location, Zona Rosa Town Center offers our clients unparalleled amenities including a number of upscale dining shopping and entertainment options in a community town square-type setting.”
Zona Rosa Town Center is a 93-acre development that offers tenants more than office space. The center includes shopping, dining and entertainment venues to compliment the office space and luxury apartments and lofts. Regus should thrive in this live, work and play environment with its pedestrian-friendly streetscapes and open air gathering spaces because it will gain visibility of residents and visitors to the community.
“Having a Regus business center in Zona Rosa adds an additional dimension to our unique and vibrant project,” says Jimmy Thompson, director of Office Leasing, Steiner + Associates. “Regus is a wonderful complement to our roster of existing “blue-chip” tenants and their centers are always very-well received by the business community.”

Is there any stopping Regus? Companies in Kansas City may be happy about it, but Regus competitors probably aren’t. Then again, I’ve heard Regus charges more for its executive suites than local competitors in many cases. So I guess it really depends on perspective. Regus is definitely on a roll, though, as you say in the executive suites industry.

I think it’s an interesting strategy to locate in one of these town centers. I am not sure how much direct visibility Regus gets since they are inside an office building. But there are probably directories on the property that list them as office space providers and word of mouth in a community like that is price. Congratulations to Regus for what looks like another strategic location.
