Regus Gives Free Office Space to Metro Atlanta Business
Published June 17th, 2010 by Jennifer LeClaire
Just when I thought Regus was done giving away free office space… How could I forget about the “Win An Office” sweepstakes the serviced office giant held in Atlanta?
Regus just announced the winner of its Atlanta free office space sweepstakes: An entrepreneur named Desiree Scales. Scales is the principal of a web design company called Bella Web Design. She’ll get 12 free months of furnished and equipped office space at any one of Regus’ 23 locations in the Atlanta metro area she chooses.
“We are really excited to have the option of working in our offices at home as well as in a very active office community where we can network with a lot of small to medium sized businesses and focus on growing our company,” Scales says. “Winning this office space from Regus gives us the opportunity to present a more professional image and increase our presence not only in the Metro Atlanta area, but globally as well.”
A Look at North Park
Scales is moving her web design firm into 1200 Abernathy Road in the North Park area of Atlanta. It’s easy to see why she chose this location on Atlanta’s perimeter. North Park is a popular location for residents and businesses.
Scales will have quick access to major thoroughfares like GA-400 and I-285. That means she can get to Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead quickly. The Atlanta International Airport is only 35 minutes away via train.
Scales will get free parking to go along with her free office space on the 17th floor of the 600 Building in the Northpark Town Center Complex. She’ll be within a short drive or walk to shopping, dining and entertainment options. And she can look over the city with ceiling-to-floor windows.
It’s an ideal location for the 12-year-old boutique web design firm that’s gone global. Bella Web Design has been in business since 1998 and serves more than 350 clients across 38 states and even into Europe.
Scales said it herself. The Regus office space lets her present a more professional image—even on a global scale. She can still work from home when she wants to, but she has access to a Class-A office space that sets her apart from many of her competitors. This is a win for Regus and a win for Scales.

North Park is an active market on the outskirts of Atlanta. It’s close enough to Downtown Atlanta where you can get there quickly, but far enough away that you can avoid the traffic. She should really enjoy this free office space. I’m guessing it must have been pretty close to her house and that’s why she chose the location. I can see how this would allow her to expand her business. The million dollar question is always this: Will they keep renting office space from Regus after the free year is up?

Great location–and the price is right. Free office space is always good. But when you can get a free Regus space in a great location near Atlanta, that’s like a dream come true for many entrepreneurs. Regus should have these winners write a short essay at the end of the year about how the office space helped them grow their business or enhance their image. Or at least do some sort of follow up interview with them. That would help them maximize this PR opportunity.
