Office Evolution Installs Card Reader Access System
Published March 23rd, 2010 by Jennifer LeClaire
In a move to provide more convenience to its serviced office customers, Office Evolution has installed a card reader access system at its nine Denver metro locations. The system lets gives clients easy access to their office space 24/7/365.
Here’s how it works: After clients sign a lease, part of the welcome package includes a fob that offers access to any location at any time instead of having to carry multiple keys or access cards to visit various Denver locations.
Here’s another advantage: security. With a single database to manage, Office Evolution can better keep tabs on who enters the business centers. IP-at-the-door reader-controllers provide real-time information about who is in each location at any given time. This enhances security for clients, employees and the company.
Office Evolution hooked up with ISONAS, a Boulder-based security systems firm that relies on an IP-based central database. The companies are pushing the partnership as an eco-friendly move. I think that’s pushing the green message a little too far. Don’t get me wrong. I think it’s great that the card access system company uses green materials in products and packaging to minimize its carbon footprint, but I am not sure it makes sense to try to force that message in the middle of a security product announcement.
Office Evolution is a cool company, probably one of the cooler outfits in the Denver area. This one-fob access system is a real advantage for entrepreneurs and small business owners who regularly visit different Office Evolution locations in the course of the day – or even into the evening and weekend hours. All other things being equal, it could make the competitive difference to potential office space renters.

Very cool. That’s an upgrade that customers will probably really appreciate. It’s not a major investment, likely, but it offers major convenience for customers trying to access different office space in different parts of Denver. Office Evolution seems to have a pulse on the convenience needs of its customers. That should bode well for the company.

This is interesting. Security is an issue that you don’t hear a lot about in the serviced office space. That could be a way to differentiate the brand, but I don’t know how big of a concern security ultimately is. I would have to assume that most of these buildings are pretty safe to begin with. I think the convenience factor of accessing all of Office Evolution’s locations with one fob is a bigger draw. Even if you only access two locations regularly, it’s still more convenient than having two keys or two cards.
