OBCAI Wants Your Opinion for 2010 Business Center Survey

Want to share your opinion? The Office Business Center Association International (OBCAI) wants you to take part in its 2010 survey that aims to compile financial and demographic information for business centers around the world.

Don’t worry. It won’t take long. There are less than 14 questions, so it shouldn’t take more than five minutes for each center to fill out the survey—so long as you have your financial information readily available. If you were one of the 575 business centers that took the survey last year it won’t even take that long because your form will be pre-populated with your 2008 data.

Besides the warm and fuzzy feeling of doing something good for the business center industry, there are a couple of other incentives for participating.

First, you will get a free, confidential “Company Performance Report Card” that presents your company’s ratios and data alongside statistics straight from the industry survey. The Report Card gives your facility a grade based on industry qualities. That saves you both time and money.

You’ll also get a discount on the price of the full report if you choose to purchase it. The discounted price is US$99 for OBCAI members and US$149 for non-members. If you don’t participate now, you’ll pay more later…Non-participants will ante up US$249 if they are members and US$499 if they aren’t members.

OBCAI promises your information will remain confidential. A company called Industry Insights is actually conducting the serviced office space survey. No one at OBCAI or anyone else outside Industry Insights, Inc. will ever have access to any individual operator’s data.

Ready to take the survey? You can do so by clicking here: www.obcaisurvey.com.

I’m not a business center owner, so I can’t take the survey. But I think it’s great that you are helping to get the word out. I know industry surveys really do a lot of good for the companies that make up an industry. Information sharing is power. More power to the OBCAI on this serviced office survey quest.

I like the incentive of getting a free serviced office space report card. Getting folks to give up all that information, even though it is private, requires some sort of incentive. People are busy and gathering the information they are looking for probably takes longer than taking the survey itself. I agree with @Elizabeth that this is an important undertaking for the business center industry.
