Metro Offices Partners with Officescape for D.C. Office Diversity

What do you get when you mix Metro Offices and Officescape? A partnership that promises to get some attention in the regional serviced office marketplace.
On Thursday, Metro Offices and Officescape announced an exclusive partnership that the companies believe will make a major impact on the metropolitan Washington , D.C. area’s workplace options. If Metro Offices and Officescape get what they are aiming at, workers will get more productive, fight less traffic, and create new jobs for the region’s distributed workforces. That’s a tall promise, and it’s a little mysterious at first.
Essentially, Officescape will combine its telework technology with Metro Offices’ physical office space to give government workers, commercial clients and entrepreneurs more flexibility than either company could offer on its own. With this partnership, people can work from anywhere at any time with security and reliability, whether that’s on the road, at home or in a Metro Offices office space.
Metro Goes High-Tech
Kathlene Buchanan, president of Metro Offices, says the Officescape deal positions her company to meet the needs of any type of organization. “Throughout our history, Metro Offices has always provided our clients with the latest technology and services to succeed in a competitive marketplace,” Buchanan says. “New technology exists today that can dramatically reduce the cost of providing workplace solutions for employees.”
Of course, Metro Offices wasn’t exactly low-tech or lopsided before the Officescape deal. The company has been offering physical office space, virtual office space—or a combination of both—for many years. But Officescape brings a new edge to Metro Offices with its 15-plus years of experience in telework management. The companies are betting this partnership will change the way people do business in Metro D.C. Those are bold aspirations, but with two industry leaders working together the possibilities are impressive.
Metro Offices has been serving D.C. for more than 20 years. You have to figure that the company wouldn’t strike a deal like this if they didn’t think they could profit from it. The company is probably looking at the recession, which has led to private sector job losses and public sector growth, and looking for creative ways to accommodate the shift in workplace styles. With Officescape powering its telework offering, Metro Offices as a truly state-of-the-art, end-to-end offering for its clients.

It looks like this is Metro Offices buying into Officescape’s technology to beef up its offerings. I suppose they could have done that without a major announcement, but I guess they are trying to trumpet the fact that they are using what is positioned as the industry’s best brand. I don’t see what Officscape stands to gain from this exclusive partnership in the serviced office space but I could be missing something.

I can see the value in this partnership for Officescape. They don’t deal with physical office space. So by partnering with Metro Offices in the D.C. metro, they can offer their clients this service and vice versa. Metro also gets much better technology than what it probably had. This deal offers plenty of synergies for both sides of the fence. I think this should benefit serviced office space customers across the board in Washington, D.C.

How could this be anything but a great benefit for both companies? Metro Offices will be able to supply their clients with Officescape’s innovative technologies for virtual office space while Officescape will be able to increase visibility and brand their services with one of the top virtual office solutions corporations in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area. It is a win-win situation for both parties involved and a very smart move by Metro Offices. Virtual meeting space and telework has become one of the best ways for entrepreneurs, business owners, government contractors and start-up companies to run their business in a convenient, flexible and efficient manner.
