KC Commons Opens Kansas Coworking Office Space

OVERLAND PARK, KAN.—Another day, another coworking office space. OK, I’m being glib. But one can hardly deny that coworking facilities are springing up all over the nation in rapid fire succession.

The latest is KC Commons in Overland Park, Kansas. KC Commons is holding its grand opening on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The coworking office space is hoping to woo prospective tenants to its office space with “delicious free coffee, spiked cider, spiked wassail, scones” and other treats. After you get spiked, er, familiar with the what the facility has to offer, KC Commons hopes you’ll become a tenant.

KC Commons describes itself as a professional, creative workspace meeting the needs of entrepreneurs, freelancers, and anyone needing a place to focus and be productive. By providing office essentials in a creative environment, KC Commons is convinced its the perfect place in Kansas City to work, meet, share, and grow.

“We thrive on productivity, creativity, opportunity, and collaboration by bringing together inspired people. All the best things about having coworkers: water cooler chat, idea sharing, impromptu lunches, and informal networking but without the cubicles and corporate culture,” the coworking outfit says on its Web site.

You might call it café-like collaboration without the frenetic pace of a Starbucks. Features of this coworking facility include personal desks with outlets, lamps and comfy chairs, high-speed Internet, multiple conference rooms, white boards, projector and screen, printer, scanner and fax and so on.

So far as price, you can get a $10 day pass, a $100 a month café pass, a $250 a month workspace or a $500 a month private office. The workspace and private office options offer you unlimited 24/7 access to the coworking facility. Some of the packages include conference room access in the deal. If you’ve never tried coworking, start with the $10 day pass, or better yet, the $100 a month café pass so you can get a true taste of the benefits of coworking.
