Jay Suites Chronicles Success of Manhattan iPad Entrepreneur

In a masterful marketing campaign, Jay Suites is practicing the art of storytelling to point out the virtues of its Manhattan serviced office space. Jay Suites chronicles the rise of a client, Brian Akaka, owner of Appular, in an attempt to connect with entrepreneurs looking for office space in New York City.

As the story goes, Akaka, an iPhone apps developer and marketer from New York City, launched his own business and was quickly faced with a challenge with which many entrepreneurs contend: finding office space. It was a challenge, in part, because Brian didn’t have a Manhattan office space budget.

With about a low monthly budget to spend on office space, it was looking like Akaka might end up in Queens. No good for the professional image of an up and coming iPad developer trying to make a good impression on the software world. Akaka wanted—and needed—to open office space in Manhattan.

The story concludes with Akaka finding Jay Suites. Jay Suites offered Akaka a pre-built, ready-to-use executive office suite without a long-term contract and at a price he could afford. Jay Suites prices start at $1,000 a month, and that includes all utilities, high-speed Internet access, furniture and cleaning.

Akaka’s professional neighbors include attorneys, accountants, insurance agents, technology consultants, hedge funds, and other startups. Apparently, Akaka hit the big time. Jay Suites says Akaka moved into a permanent suite.

What’s the moral of the story? Executive office suites work for entrepreneurs. Sure, Akaka’s iPad development success was based more on his creativity and innovation on the software front. But, if we are to believe Jay Suites’ story, Akaka also benefited from having the right image to go along with his innovation.

Every Jay Suites business center in New York has the marble floors, Venetian plaster walls, and modern furniture. Lease terms and office layouts are customizable, and all plans include a receptionist, kitchen access, and conference room time, among other amenities at no extra charge.

Want to repeat Akaka’s success? Of course, there are no guarantees. But there are opportunities. Jay Suites is waiving phone and Internet fees for all leases signed through June 30.
