Is Skyline Executive Suites Houston’s Finest Business Center?

Skyline Executive Suites bills itself as Houston’s finest business center. That’s a tall claim with some respected competitors in the southern city. But we decided to check it out.

First of all, Skyline Executive Suites has an admirable mission: “The staff and ownership of Skyline Executive Suites is dedicated to providing our clientele a business environment exceeding the expectations of corporate America while focusing on the attention to detail that is demanded by the most discriminating executive. Our clients build businesses while we provide the foundation for their success.”

Again, a lofty mission. Let’s dig a little deeper.

The first thing we can look at is location. Skyline Executive Suites is located at 17757 Katy Freeway in Houston. This looks to be a strategic location. Originally constructed in the 1960s, the 23-mile stretch of Interstate 10 (Katy Freeway) from its intersection with Interstate 610 west to the City of Katy has become a dynamic corridor of economic expansion. The Katy Freeway currently serves more than 219,000 vehicles a day. There is a reconstruction project going on that promises to foster region-wide economic expansion and prosperity for decades to come.

Skyline Executive Suites calls a 15-story black glass and chrome structure home. The majestic building has been a west Houston landmark since 1985.  This building was selected as the primary site of Skyline’s corporate facility based not only on its strategic location and ease of access, but also for the array of self-contained amenities that clients can use on a daily basis, including an on-site restaurant, travel agency, and title company.

As far as the facility itself, Skyline Executive Suites offers an elegantly appointed lobby and tastefully decorated suites that project the successful image of our clients. The facility features coffered ceilings, pendant light fixtures and historical artwork. The site also offers three glass-enclosed conference/presentation rooms that can accommodate up to 24 people in high back leather chairs as they look upon an electronically controlled projection screen. There’s even a wet bar.

On the technology front, Skyline Executive Suites boasts a state-of-the-art video conference system capable of point-to-point connections, with full range motion video, connecting at high speeds. The facility also has a scan converter, a document camera, LCD projectors, high-speed connected digital copying, eight-way conference calling, multiple office networking and VPN capabilities and surveillance cameras for security.

I can’t speak to whether or not this is the finest serviced office space in Houston, but it looks promising. Based on what I’ve learned, Skyline Executive Suites’ mission isn’t merely lip service. The company really strives to offer its clients the best possible officing experience.

What a question, LOL. I wouldn’t know if Skyline Executive Suites is Houston’s finest business center because I only spent one night in Houston and it was in a hotel because there was a flight delay. This does sound like a really well-equipped serviced office facility, though. It is probably among the finest if not the finest. I am not sure who else plays in west Houston.

It looks like Skyline Executive Suites is packed out with high-tech bells and whistles, which I am sure its clients appreciate. It also sounds like they are in a very recognizable office building in west Houston, which should help. The location itself also appears to be strategic for a serviced office facility. Look like a winning combination for temporary office space in Houston.

Serviced offices really following the golden real estate rule: Location, Location, Location. But I think beyond a great location, Skyline Executive Suites also has the amenities to back it up. In other words, it’s not just a good location. They seem to have a quality presentation for people looking for private office space in Houston. It’s one thing to be in a great building. That doesn’t necessarily mean you offer a quality executive suite. But Skyline seems to offer the best of both worlds.

I sometimes wonder if these executive suites all use the same copywriter. All the descriptions of their amenities and serviced office facilities sound the same. It sounds like Skyline is in the upper echelon of the industry, but their web site looks like they are in the lower echelon. It’s way outdated.

As a 21 year owner of OBCs, I feel that this article would have been more relevant if this new OBC was compared to others that had been in the market longer i.e. Abby and Tower.
