Intelligent Office of Garden City Partners with Nassau County Bar Association
Published September 30th, 2009 by Jennifer LeClaire
An Intelligent Office franchise in Garden City, New York is pulling a Regus, of sorts. The serviced office company just inked a partnership with the Nassau County Bar Association.
In a mouthful of a deal, Intelligent Office of Garden City will serve as “Corporate Partner and Preferred Service Provider for Virtual Office Solutions and Remote Receptionist Services for the local bar association.
Founded in 1899, the Nassau County Bar Association is the leading source for legal information and services for the legal profession and the local community in Nassau County, Long Island, New York. NCBA enjoys a membership of nearly 6,000 private and public attorneys, judges, legal educators and law students, making it the largest suburban bar association in the United States.
As part of the deal, NCBA members get discounted rates on the full suite of Intelligent Office of Garden City’s virtual and executive office solutions. The discount deal includes hourly office space rentals and conference rooms, address services, mailboxes and remote telephone reception services. Intelligent Office of Garden City didn’t reveal how much of a discount NCBA members would get, but it’s likely enough to cause them to rush to this brand rather than another.
“In short, this deal makes perfect business sense,” says Roger Khan, owner of Intelligent Office of Garden City. “IO of Garden City offers a unique, cost-effective approach to the traditional office space, that which will provide members of the NCBA – nearly 6,000 private and public attorneys, judges, legal educators and law students in total – all of the necessary resources to assist them in furthering their professional growth. It’s a win-win for one and all!”

Way to go Roger! Roger is a smart business man. Have you read his little book? You should. This s a potentially profitable alliance he struck with the local bar. He just added 6,000 potential customers to his pool. Sure, they all won’t use his services, but what if in the course of a year 10 percent of them used a virtual office space or rented office space for a few hours a month. You can see the possibilities.

It’s not only the membership base of 6,000 — it’s also the potential referrals. Think about it for a minute. If you’ve got 6,000 people who are aware of your executive office space and they each know five others in the legal profession who might not be members but might need virtual office space or need to rent a conference room in Garden City for the day, that’s 30,000 people who now are potential customers.

I think @Bill hit all the angles here. This is one of those partnerships that just keeps on giving to Intelligent Office. There’s really no downside at all to giving bar association members a discount. All it does is drive them through the door. I wonder if this is an exclusive deal or if other serviced office companies will jump on this bandwagon. Either way, IO made a smart move. Sometimes the competition pay copycat. Nothing you can do about that.

It doesn’t look like an exclusive deal necessarily with Intelligent Office of Garden City. But the article does say IO is the “preferred provider.” There could be legal reasons why the bar association can’t do exclusive deals. Who knows? The lawyers do. I think this is a very valuable service, especially for young attorneys that need to rent affordable office space in Garden City or just want to work from a home office and use a virtual office set up until they land their first client.
