Great use of video to promote executive office space

We have recently come across a couple really good examples of executive offices promoting their office rentals through video marketing. They each take a different angle — and both I think are very effective.

Catherine Price, founder of Execu Suites in Orlando, FL, has several videos on her company’s site. The one on the home page is an introduction to executive suites and her company. But at aBetterOffice.com, we like her humorous “real life” scenarios that help people avoid the common annoyances of working from home.

There are several more videos throughout her site, each touching on important selling points of the executive suite industry. We only have one exception to this excellent marketing. Execu Suites should leverage YouTube or Vimeo (similar to YouTube, but much higher quality resolution videos) to optimize for search engines and maximize the potential for a viral effect. Her “Home Office from Hell” videos have the potential to get a lot of visibility. If done correctly, these videos could raise Execu Suites’ rankings significantly in the search engines and generate some good quality leads.

Another company is using YouTube to market their San Diego executive office (see below) space by introducing the viewer to the executive suite industry’s selling points, then providing a tour of the facility. I have discussed video marketing with with quite a few operators of executive suites, and one of the common reasons that are cited for not using video to market office rentals is the idea that prospects may not come take a tour if they have a video to look at. This is similar to the thinking of many marketers 10 years ago, but times have changed and companies over and over have shown that video can be a highly effective way to get more people to buy their product, or in this case, rent their real estate. We believe companies who embrace this technology will get an upperhand in marketing.

If President-Elect Barack Obama can put his weekly radio address on YouTube, then why can’t serviced office companies do the same? This is really a brilliant. Put another way, the executive office suites that aren’t tapping this tool are at a severe disadvantage. I know I would be more likely to view a few options for office space rentals on YouTube than I would to drive to each location. This is the digital age, after all.

Maggie’s right. Who has time to drive from serviced office to serviced office? These days, people expect virtual tours of real estate projects. This YouTube concept just takes it to the next level. I think these demand a strong narrative… not too salesy but informative about the aspects of the facility that may not be apparent from just watching the visuals. I’d like to see more of these posted on the site so we can compare styles. There’s best practices that will emerge here, no doubt.
