Get “Presidential Treatment” at Washington, D.C. Serviced Offices

With all eyes on Washington, D.C. waiting for the next multibillion-dollar stimulus package, I thought it was a good time to look into executive office suites in the nation’s capital.

What I found was four of solid options run by Business Centers: Farragut West Business Center, Farragut Business Center, Georgetown Business Center and Union Station Business Center.

Business Centers offers a “preferred” D.C. address, a wide range of private office space that’s fully equipped with cutting-edge technology. (They even boast Starbucks Coffee service!) The company promises a range of support services from the friendliest staff in D.C. You can sign up on a month-to-month basis, by the quarter or by the year.

Not an Oval Office, but Private Ones…
Business Centers’ full-time office program includes a furnished reception area with a dedicated receptionist and live phone answering, kitchen and lounge facility, lobby listing, utilities, maintenance and janitorial services, reciprocal use of all locations, 10 hours a month of Club Office or Conference Room space, two hours a month of Board Room space, daily mail processing, and voice-mail-to-e-mail service.

If that’s not enough, you can also tap into broadband services, administrative services, graphic design services, IT support, color copying, printing, scanning and faxing, FedEx, UPS, postal and courier services, and video conferencing capabilities. It’s enough to make some congressional interns jealous.

Transparent Pricing Model
Unlike many executive office suite operators, Business Centers actually posts most of its fees online. Although the company doesn’t list prices for the actual serviced office space, it does break out some of the other costs.

For example, PC & network support is $150 an hour. Graphic design services are $75 an hour. Administrative Services are $3.50 for a six-minute increment. Broadband services are $90 a month per user. If you just need a workstation, you can rent it for $12 an hour. A day office rental is only $30 an hour and a conference room runs $45 an hour.

No Bailout Necessary
Business Centers’ virtual office program pricing is even more transparent. For $139 a month you get the Entrepreneur package complete with a prestigious Washington, D.C. address with forwarding, a private telephone number and 24-hour voicemail.

There are also Standard, Executive, VIP and, VIP 100 packages. The VIP 100 package offers a list of features too long for this article. Some of the most notable ones are private storage, use of any of the DC Metro area locations with complimentary access to meeting rooms worldwide and a lobby listing.

So whether you are doing business in D.C. for a day, a month, a week or permanently, Business Centers offers some strategic locations in the nation’s capital with competitive pricing and attractive amenities so you won’t need a business bailout to pay the office rent.

The presidential treatment, eh? Cute analogy. I imagine serviced offices and virtual offices in the Washington, D.C. have seen a boost in business in recent months. Lobby groups seem to be ideal candidate for executive office suites in D.C. The by-the-hour and by-the-day office rental programs are great for travelers to the nation’s capital.

This serviced office provider has a large number of virtual office packages. You almost wonder if that’s really necessary at first. But what I noticed was the higher-level virtual office packages offer many of the benefits the serviced office users enjoy. It’s sort of a hybrid flexible office space at that point.

Starbucks coffee. Well, you sold me right there, LOL. This serviced office chain seems to have its Washington, D.C. bases covered. Apparently, the west side facility is new, which demonstrates positive growth for the firm. I’d be interested to see the office vacancy rates and office rental rates in D.C. and compare how Business Centers fits into that mix.

I always appreciate a transparent pricing model with serviced office space and virtual offices. I understand why some providers don’t offer office space rental rates online, but price ranges are always good. Sort of like homes where you see “Starting in the 300s.” At least that gives you a starting point.
