Corporate Office Centers Planning Phoenix Office Space
Published April 7th, 2010 by Jennifer LeClaire
Corporate Office Centers is on a roll. The Arlington, Texas-based business center operator is on the verge of opening its 33rd location in Phoenix.
Corporate Office Centers will take up residence in the brand spanking new $900 million, mixed-use CityScape project in Downtown Phoenix. Home to more than 560,000 square feet of office space, the 27-story office tower is being promoted as the crown jewel of the Downtown Phoenix skyline.
“We are excited to be a part of this landmark project,” says Thad Pittman, president of Corporate Office Centers. “Our business center will no doubt be a superlative office space option for businesses that desire a solution for their space requirements and flexible term options that traditional office space leases may not provide.”
A Central Phoenix Location
Cityscape is located at the intersection of Central Avenue and Washington Street. In addition to the office tower, the project features a three-story, 180,000-square-foot retail venue with boutiques, restaurants and entertainment, and secured parking in a five-level underground garage. A second tower is planned that will feature the 250-room Kimpton Hotel Palomar.
Corporate Office Centers is getting the word out early. The Phoenix serviced office space won’t actually open until this summer. But I can understand the excitement around the new location. You can easily access the Phoenix Convention Center, Arizona State University, Sky Harbor International Airport and the city of Tempe from CityScape. And a Metro Light Rail System stop will be located at the west end of the project with two additional stops within two blocks of CityScape.
Focus on Office Cost Savings
As Pittman sees it, the key to choosing an office business center is cost savings – and Corporate Office Centers offers that cost savings. “Not only are our services more cost effective than conventional office leases, the flexibility to accommodate one workstation to several provides businesses the ability to occupy the exact amount of space needed,” Pittman says.
“Under traditional office space leases, the lessee often rents square footage that is not fully utilized. Our business model negates the need to do this and there are no capital expenditures. Further, we handle operating the workplace so our clients can focus their resources on their core business.”
Corporate Office Centers is a fine serviced office brand. Choosing a location in one of the most coveted new office buildings in Downtown Phoenix is a smart move. Of course, the Phoenix real estate market was hard hit, as were many cities in the U.S. So Corporate Office Centers probably leveraged the down market to get good rates on a long-term lease. The beauty part is, Corporate Office Centers can pass those good rates along to customers and gain momentum in the Phoenix office market.

Wow. Corporate Office Centers is making its move in multiple cities. What a great back to back story… I think Corporate Office Centers was really smart to secure office space in this new building in downtown Phoenix. It looks like this is where a lot of the action is going to be in 2010 and beyond on the office scene. What a win! I only wonder if there is executive office suites competition in the same building.

This is the creme de la creme of new office buildings in Phoenix. I don’t know what the terms of the deal were, and Corporate Office Centers probably won’t reveal that. But expect the serviced office company to continue the marketing efforts around this Phoenix office space. I am sure they are competing with other executive suites providers in the same building as well as traditional office leases. So it’s going to be competitive. Great location, though, for sure.
