Corporate Office Centers Adds Video Conferencing

While The Regus Group is making plenty of noise in the serviced office industry with its $45 million investment in telepresence technology, one of its smaller rivals is quietly making some strategic technology upgrades of its own.

Corporate Office Centers recently added video conferencing to three of its premier locations: Arlington, Texas, Scottsdale, Arizona and Memphis, Tennessee.

Corporate Office Centers has come to realize what Regus and other cutting-edge serviced office providers already know: Video conferencing is becoming the go-to option as businesses search for real-time tools that increase effective communication and reduce travel expenses.

Go Green with Video Conferencing
According to a recent Psytechnics survey, 80 percent of telecommunications professionals are currently deploying or are seriously considering the use of video conferencing. In addition to saving travel costs, video conferencing technology lets users have face-to-face meetings without leaving a carbon footprint. It may also help stop the spread of communicable diseases like swine flu when regional outbreaks occur by voiding the need for travel for meetings.

“We are very excited to add this technology to our service menu and provide our clients and other  businesses in the area a cost-effective alternative to wasted travel time and cash costs associated with business travel,” says Thad Pittman, president and co-founder of Corporate Office Centers. “By using video conferencing, the strain on resources is minimized and it also serves as an effective green solution to auto and air travel.”

Corporate Office Centers offers public access rooms in a professional business environment. Not technically inclined? Don’t worry. Corporate Office Centers promises its Onsite staff will handle all the necessary arrangements to ensure a high-quality and efficient video conference experience.

Actually, Corporate Office Centers went first. I think they announced their plans to do add video conferencing to three of its serviced office facilities in late February. Although Corporate Office Centers investment pales in comparison to Regus’ multimillion-dollar spread, COC should be commended for making these technology upgrades. I’m sure their customers appreciate it.

I hadn’t heard of Corporate Office Centers. There seems to be a long jump between the one-off serviced office providers, the players that have like 25 locations, and the Reguses of the world. There’s two strategies, I suppose, for companies like Corporate Office Centers: upgrade the facilities they have to compete with newcomers or expand and become the newcomer in a market. Looks like this time they chose to upgrade their executive office suites technology.

I hadn’t heard of Corporate Office Centers either. Looks like they have a good showing in the Los Angeles area, though. That’s a hot market and also a tough market for serviced office facilities because there’s so much competition. So kudos to Corporate Office Centers for modeling the way with a video conferencing upgrade.

Corporate Office Centers has a great reputation in the executive office suites industry. They’ve been around for nearly 20 years and keep growing. That says a lot. There are a lot of regional competitors we’ve never heard of in the serviced office space, but they are high-quality all the way around, many of them. It’s sort of like regional restaurants you miss when you move away.

Location, staff and communications systems. Those are three of the ‘needs’ one of the people in the article cited. That’s noteworthy for the serviced office facilities out there. I guess with anything real estate it’s always location, location, location. But with executive office suites people want the admin help and the high-tech bells and whistles. Looks like Corporate Office Centers gives you all that.
