I don’t see much different about this serviced office space than what most others offer. Barrister seems thorough in its offerings — and it certainly has found its sweet spot in Calabasas and other California areas. But so far as communicating the differences between their office rentals and the competition’s, I don’t see a major difference. I could say that about most serviced office space providers, I suppose. I am waiting for someone to break out of the box with some attention-getting marketing.

Beyond the strategic location, Barrister Executive Suites is tapping into the productivity vein. There is plenty of competition in the Southern California market for serviced office rentals. But there doesn’t seem to be much competition in Calabasas, and the productivity message resonates in a down economy where companies are looking for new opportunities to do more with less.

When I read the list of amenities this serviced office in Southern California offers, it amazes me. I mean, I’m familiar with the executive office suite business model. But every time I consider what businesses get for the dollar it still amazes me. Barrister’s clients have access to “state-of-the-art office equipment such as telecommunications equipment, photocopiers, fax machines, and high speed Internet access.” Sure, a business could lease all of those things but it’s risk and monthly output.

What caught my attention about Barrister’s announcement was the 30 percent to 40 percent savings estimate over office rentals in Los Angeles. That’s more than significant in any economy. I saw the images, and this is a top quality facility just like Barrister’s facilities across the rest of Southern California. A very strategic move for a veteran in the serviced office space.

Barrister Executive Suites is a well-known name in the Southern California market. It’s good to see the company expanding. Calabasas is a strong choice. Entrepreneurs can keep their costs down without giving up fairly easy access to bigger cities in the region. Jennifer made the point of the high cost of office rentals in Southern California. Barrister is well-positioned to compete with traditional offices as companies pay closer attention to their bottom lines.
