Phone.com Helps U.S. Companies Go Global

So you want to do business overseas? Well, that doesn’t mean you need to pick up your bag, book a flight to London and rent a serviced office from Avanta or Regus. In fact, it doesn’t even mean you have to use the virtual office services of the leading global executive office suite brands.

Phone.com is taking the expense out of doing business globally – at least when it comes to telecommunications. Phone.com is offering American companies local phone numbers in more than 40 overseas countries. That means non-U.S. prospects and customers can reach U.S. offices with a local call.

Global Benefits
As I see it, this is more impressive than an 800 number. 800 numbers are great for in-country customers that live in a different state. But once you set your sights on going global, the better route may be to have an in-country number. Folks want to make a local call, and, what’s more, want to feel like they are dealing with a company that has a local presence.

Services like Phone.com level the playing field for small businesses. Entrepreneurs and SMEs can instantly create an international brand image once reserved for larger enterprises. Phone.com’s service works well, seamlessly routing overseas inbound calls to the American office.

Counting the Costs
What’s the cost? Good question. Surprisingly little, actually. There is no set-up cost. The monthly fee ranges $4.88 to $12.88, depending on country you choose. This is a true value. It’s one thing to have a postal box in another country. It’s another thing altogether to have a local phone number to go along with it.

For customers calling your office, they pay only the price of a local call in their country. They also save time because they don’t have to go through the process of dialing extra digits to call overseas to reach the U.S. office.

“This is also helpful and extremely cost-effective if a U.S.-based company has employees or reps calling the U.S. office frequently from another country. We are very pleased to be offering international phone numbers to our customers,” says Ari Rabban, Phone.com CEO. “We have many customers with clients overseas and they can now provide such clients with a local number in that client’s own country. This will make it much easier and cheaper for them to contact the U.S.”

This is innovative. I’ve often thought of the implications of having a virtual PBX with an in-country number. I couldn’t find anyone who did it in this way — routing the calls automatically back to the U.S. This is further evidence that the world is getting flatter and smaller at the same time. A welcomed addition to the arsenal of small business owners renting serviced offices.

This is helpful. I never would have thought you could get an international local phone number at this low of an international price. Virtual PBXes are coming a long way. I am not familiar with the competitive offerings. Phone.com seems to have the URL that gains attention and the awards to back up its innovation. I am going to try this out for myself. Has anybody else tried this particular virtual PBX vendor?

You gotta love modern technology. Technology makes virtual offices and virtual PBXes like this one possible — and that fuels the economy. Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy, and virtual offices make it viable to launch a new enterprise — whether that’s in Chicago or China. Phone.com seems to have some solid services at a great price.
