WSJ explains serviced office space best

Wendy Bounds, a writer for the Wall Street Journal, spent some time earlier this year covering serviced office space. While it is old news to office space insiders, I believe this is one of the best, and highest profile, videos created on this segment of the commercial office space industry, and is appropriate for replay here.

I’m glad you are replaying the Wall Street Journal video about shared offices. This is a timely reminder. Wendy Bounds did a good job of communicating the reasons why the serviced office trend is gaining so much momentum. I haven’t seen any coverage in the Journal in a while about the executive office space concept. It may be time for Wendy to revisit this in the light of the new economic conditions.

A swank Park Avenue address. Notice that’s how the reporter lead out on this Wall Street Journal video about executive office suites. That’s an important distinction. Of course, the cost that was publicized in this video is far and above what you’d pay in the Mid-west or even Miami for an executive office suite. I’ve seen rates as low as $1,500 a month.

If a picture speaks a thousand words, this video about serviced office space speaks a million. New York office rentals like the one featured in this report on executive office suites go a long way in educating the market. I agree with Rob, though. The cost of this Manhattan executive suite is not typical of what you’d pay in other cities, like Indianapolis, Cleveland or even Miami.
