Update on shared office space websites

SuiteMatch shared office spaceI recently discussed a website that offered listings of shared office space called and suggested it may be the first of its kind. Well, it still may have been the first of its kind, but I have found another. It is called SuiteMatch. It is a very nice website that has been simplified to its base elements — helping people find co-working office space fast and free. It is highly focused and doesn’t waste any words, and definitely no pages on extraneous information.

Looking for shared office space in the United States?

It is only available in New York, San Francisco and Chicago, but it offers an option to request to add a new city.

Update: It is now available in a long list of cities. Since it is growing significantly, I’m not going to list them all here. Just check out their website to get the latest list!

One of the interesting tools the site offered was a widget that allows anyone to list available office space. So I decided to try it out in this post. Here are the top listings for shared office space in New York City, Chicago and San Francisco:

The listing pages are very well laid out, simple and attractive. Overall it is a pleasant site to navigate, and if you are wanting to list shared or co-working space, or are looking for an office to rent, you can visit this website and quickly accomplish what you want.

The Obama campaign brought technology into play like never before. Could the office rental industry follow those footsteps? That was my first thought
when I saw the widgets for shared office space. This niche may not be able to compete with giant ad budgets and lots of brokers to fill the space, but shared offices can compete with technology. And it’s likely that shared office users are tech savvy folks to begin with. SuiteMatch has tapped into the social media fray. I’m interested to see how it works.

Thanks for your interest in SuiteMatch. Our goal was to keep the site simple and easy to use so I am glad to hear you had a similar experience. I agree with Melanie, our widget is good a way for blogs, like, to share available listings with their readers that they might otherwise never see.

I liked the simple layout of SuiteMatch. I think it’s complex enough to determine the best office to use, and the shared office concept is still foreign to some. So it’s great to see how SuiteMatch simplified the shared office concept. This company is really leveraging the Internet in a smart way. I also agree with Melanie about the widgets. Interesting…

Share your office, meet new people. That’s SuiteMatch’s tagline — and the company is on to something in the shared office space. The technology play also works together with this. It’s the idea of social networking the old fashioned way — in a rented office. In this case in a shared office. This concept could really take off for entrepreneurs that work alone. Shared offices could open the door to strategic alliances, bartering and other synergies.
