Regus Businessworld Membership for Mobile Workforce, Part 2

In December, I wrote about the Regus businessworld membership offer that I received via email. Regus offers 4 tiers of membership, ranging from free (blue membership) to $500 per month (platinum plus membership), the latter of which gives the mobile professional nearly unlimited access to its 1000+ locations globally. I was skeptical, but I signed up for the free membership anyway to see what benefits I would receive. After experiencing it, the blue membership is fine, but I realize the real value is in the premium memberships. I recommend businesses take a look at the businessworld option.

Before I tell you more, I’ll give you a little bit of information about my experience with the Regus businessworld blue membership.

I signed up in early December and immediately received an email with a $100 offer whereby I could have a half day of office or conference room time for free. Soon after writing the article I mentioned at the beginning of this article, the Regus businessworld product manager, Dianne Hughes, called me. She informed me that I would receive a special offer each month. For the month of January, my offer is a full day meeting room for half day price. Along the way, I have gotten a number of other offers, such as free use of video equipment and 25% off meeting rooms.

I decided to take them up on the $100 offer. Unfortunately, twice the weather prevented me from traveling to visit Regus-HQ office space in downtown Cincinnati, but they made every attempt to accommodate me. I was finally able to try out one of the Regus offices in Dallas near DFW Airport. I very easily booked an office and 2 hours before my scheduled time, they called me to let me know that the network had gone out (due to an ice storm) in that location but the Regus just down the road was available and the network was funcitonal. I was rebooked, and in less than a minute of entering the lobby, I was in my chair working - very expedient and efficient. It was just what I needed.

The offers that I received with the blue membership certainly have some value, but if you take advantage of all the offers that you get, you will still spend quite a bit. It makes sense for someone who genuinely had the need to use an office multiple times per month while traveling to consider signing up for Regus businessworld gold, platinum or platinum plus, rather than using the blue membership.

I recently was speaking with an acquaintance in Cincinnati who used to work out of the Regus-HQ office in downtown Cincinnati. She was a salesperson who never actually spent time in her office, yet her company was paying for a full time office. Now, that same company can work with Regus to provide all its employees the platinum plus, or some appropriate level of membership, and save significantly.

So, if you’re a mobile professional, or a manager of a group of mobile professionals, Regus businessworld is a great option.

Unfortunately, there are no existing similar services from other providers — or if they do exist, they are not well communicated nor promoted.

Aha. I’ve been waiting on your update to this. Thanks for getting to the bottom of it. It sounds like many other aspects of the serviced office world: it works for some but not for others. Even though it sometimes seems serviced offices are a dime a dozen, this membership package definitely provides a value-add for its intended audience. I wouldn’t find value in it personally, but for larger companies with lots of traveling execs this could be a great solution.

BLANKSPACES in Los Angeles offers similar day passes so you can get to work immediately upon arrival. For 1st timers, we have free trials of up to 1 week. We’re about to launch a package of discounted day passes of 20 anytime hrs/mo and virtual office (business mail and phone), starting at $225/mo! So, know that we said it here first!

Looks like BlankSpaces is really making a push. If read about the company in another post. This is a totally different model than Regus, and some may not like the arrangements. But that’s what’s so great about the serviced office industry in this economy. We’re seeing companies work harder to differentiate themselves and it’s breeding some unique models and offers.
