Office Space Advice
Officescape focuses on virtual office technology
Published November 21st, 2008 by Mike Sullivan
I recently wrote about Worktopia and their simple application to help website visitors easily find meeting rooms. In the entry, I briefly discussed Officescape’s services, and how Worktopia’s website is superior in helping visitors find meeting room space.
In fairness, I thought it might be good to cover an area that Officescape excels in – virtual office technology for the mobile professional or the distributed company. It’s difficult to encapsulate their range of services in one short post, but they can be thought of as providing virtual receptionists, business address, on demand office or meeting space, and a host of technology services for companies looking to outsource IT with a focus on companies who have a distributed or mobile workforce.
Officescape focuses much of its marketing on its technology, in contrast to Intelligent Office and Davinci Virtual who have focused on its virtual receptionists and on demand office space. It offers everything from online fax services to distributed call center technology and management to disaster recovery.
This is quite a breadth of services that can allow a company to work with one provider on a range of business and IT services. In a later post, I will delve into more detail about Officescape and one of its competitors, Onebox.

You make a good point about Officescape’s differentiator. The virtual office technology factor is a major one for mobile professionals and distributed companies. This is a high-tech play, and maybe moreso than your typical executive office suite. But all in all I think we’re seeing more of a movement to accommodate the mobile professional.

A virtual office concept that focuses on outsourcing IT is ideal for this economy. Credit for launching new businesses is all but frozen, and it takes technology to compete effectively in today’s business environment. Officescape seems poised to tap into a growing demand for professionalism without the heavy price tag. This could be a silver lining for some entrepreneurs who were just turned down for small business loans.
