Officescape Rolls Out Nomadic Office Service Package
Published January 18th, 2010 by Jennifer LeClaire
I recently saw the movie “Up in the Air” starring George Clooney as Ryan Bingham, a road warrior who spent nearly 322 days of the year away from home. Although this is mobile working to the extreme, there are plenty of you out there who spend enough time in planes, trains and automobiles to need a robust mobile office package.
Officescape just rolled out a new service package with you in mind. Dubbed Nomadic Office, the new package makes way for office nomads, smartphone users, road warriors or coworking aficionados to stay productive while they travel from place to place. The package includes communication services, conference services, software application and online file management services plus access to Officescape’s worldwide network of on-demand day office space and conference rooms.
With solutions like these, you can bridge the productivity gap. As Clooney’s character pointed out in “Up in the Air,” the wrong suitcase can cost you seven days of your life over the course of the year if you are a heavy traveler. If that is true, then how much more can missing important calls or misplacing important digital files cost you?
Nomadic Office lets smartphone users faxes on their Blackberry, iPhone or other Web-enabled devices and synchronizes these devices with the client’s in-office e-mail, contacts and calendar, to avoid duplication. What’s more, Nomadic Office also provides Web Phone capabilities. That could come in handy for international travelers who run into spots where cell phone coverage is limited – or not available.
Nomadic Office is on the cutting edge. These are the types of services road warriors demand, appreciate and will leverage to drive more productivity during travel. Combined with the ability to tap into a day office or on-demand meeting room, this is the type of solution that would turn Bingham’s head.

Love the analogy to the Up in the Air movie. Clooney was definitely the Mad Max of road warriors and was always on his Blackberry. I think this is a great service Officescape has come up with. I think travel budgets have been slashed a lot in the recession, but there are still plenty of road warriors out there — and they need to be productive!

Officescape is always rolling out innovative programs like this, it seems. That’s what differentiates this brand from others in the virtual office space or executive suites industry. They seem to cater more to the distributed workforce than others, or at least they come up with packaged offerings that make it seem that way. This is an attractive solution for sure.
