Interesting. I went to Officescape to compare Elizabeth's experience to what they offer. From the get-to, I can see that Officescape is a player in the on-demand office rental space, but it wasn't as user-friendly in terms of the interface as Worktopia. I don't think they intend to be. They are going after a subscription model rather than a revenue share model. I suppose this is for heavy meeting room users that need more personalized service. There's a place for both models in the industry.

OK, I just tried this out for the heck of it. I was looking for office space in Cincinnati. They found multiple locations that matched my criteria, and narrowed it down to three selections. I chose Cincinnati, Ohio for my meeting room needs. That's where it stalled. It wouldn't take me anywhere from there. So I had to go start over and type "Cincinnati, Ohio" into the search box for my five-person meeting on Nov. 20. This time it worked.

Next, I was prompted to confirm my city, select a facility type, designate a preferable chain, and select a boardroom configuration. Decisions, decisions. More decisions were on step 3, where I was asked to select my catering options, additional amenities and conference amenities. They also gave me the option to type in additional requirements, which I thought was a nice touch.

At the end of the process, one during which I was picky about my amenities, Worktopia turned up three matches, all hotels. Their claim is true... this took less than three minutes. Very convenient. I can see meeting planners using this as a tool as well.

Finding a location with availability when we work in virtual offices in a three-county area and are expecting clients who are driving in from the west can be challenging. Calling every serviced office suite to see about renting a conference room is time-consuming. So this Worktopia was welcomed news to me. I'll be sure to use this next time I need to rent temporary meeting space.

I've had the same experience trying to book a last-minute meeting, so I was relieved to hear of Worktopia. What a find! With so many Web 2.0 features today, I guess it was only a matter of time before a site like Worktopia popped up. I hadn't heard of Oficescape either. I am going to check them both out. Has anybody else used these services? I'd love to hear from folks who have tried both, or at least one, and can offer some practical advice, or real benefits.
