Office Space Advice
Make sure to select the right virtual office service
Published November 14th, 2008 by Mike Sullivan
With today’s economic conditions, many businesses are looking for creative and new ways to keep costs to a minimum. Many are selecting to work more flexibly by opting for part time offices, usually known as virtual offices. Most executive office suites offer virtual office services. They can easily leverage their staff and facilities to provide a great set of offerings to businesses.
The only problem with the virtual office service executive suites provide is that they are somewhat limited. On occasion they are limited by the time the receptionist has to answer all calls (usually this is not a problem), but more often, they are limited by the ability and the time that more involved services would demand. For example, you may want someone who can act as your assistant — scheduling meetings, managing your calendar, screening a high volume of calls and doing some sort of light sales duty, order entry, etc. While some suites sometimes can handle this level of duty, there are companies who specialize in this area. Davinci Virtual and Intelligent Office are two companies who offer these services. It’s not that executive suites aren’t good at virtual offices, it is a matter of focus. Companies who solely focus on virtuals can offer more in depth services.
Before you decide on a virtual office, make sure you assess the level of service you need, and decide whether to hire a company who focuses on virtual offices, or an executive office company who offers virtuals as part of many services. Companies who focus on virtual offices are Davinci Virtual, Intelligent Office and OfficeScape.

I’m glad to see this post. I think there’s still a lot of confusion around the various types of office suites and the market needs a lot more education. I’m not sure the industry has seven settled on standard terminology in some cases. I’m going to check out these three services. Has anyone else used them or know anything about them?

I agree with Marcus. When you hear virtual office space, you tend to think of virtual assistants or virtual workers. I think the industry needs to do a better job of clarifying those terms if it wants to see quicker growth in this area. There’s nothing worse than consumer confusion. The truth is, virtual offices are a boon for entrepreneurs, but how can they choose the best provider when they don’t fully understand the concept. We need more PR around virtual offices.
