Officescape Launches Expands Savvy “On Demand” Marketing Program

Officescape is moving onward and upward again. The company first launched its Office on Demand services about a year ago. Now, it’s expanding the service at its more than 800 locations around the globe.

What is Office on Demand? It’s Officescape’s trademarked service to provide its members fully-furnished office space and meeting rooms in any of its global office centers, by the hour, by the day, or by the month. That’s convenient, especially for the globetrotter, or even the nation-trotter.

Office on Demand combines Officescape’s conferencing, computing and professional services in effort to keep business people from missing a beat in their business activities even while traveling. Flexibility and security are two keywords Officescape is using. Any time, anywhere are the others.

The key to the service – and you’re going to like this – is that you only pay for what you use. Rather than shelling out cash for services you don’t need, you get a strong set of standard capabilities and you can add on what you need – on demand. That helps you cut costs without sacrificing quality or services you really need.

Clever Office Space Marketing
The “on demand” marketing slant is a clever one. Consumers these days are on-demand consumers. They want their television on demand, so they turn to the Web and stream in Internet broadcasts. The want their music on demand, so they download it onto digital devices over Wi-Fi networks. Officescape is hoping business consumers also want their office on demand. The company is definitely on to something.

Let’s take a closer look at what Officescape has to offer through its Office on Demand platform. The conference services, for example, offer audio conference and Web conference services, as well as videoconference services at most locations. This is probably more convenient for the locals doing business with people in other cities than for the traveling businessman, but it’s a clear value-add.

What about the professional assistant services? Officescape’s Office on Demand platform provides services like data entry, accounting, and secretarial service. This is especially attractive. It’s perfect for the stationary entrepreneur but may be even more valuable to the traveling businessman who needs a dictation on the fly or some other task completed in between meetings in a foreign city.

Membership Made Easy
An Officescape membership is included with each Office on Demand package. Officescape is making it easy for business owners to sign up for its Office on Demand services. Relying on some of the technology it touts, the company offers a Web portal through which you can reserve any of the on demand services. You can schedule it for the exact times, dates, and places you want with a few keystrokes.

You can also choose from several packages. Some of the more expensive packages give you access to Officescape’s Unified Communications service. If you need follow-me/find-me functionality and voicemail-to-email features, this is important to you.

Whatever package you choose, Officescape promises its physical office locations are professionally staffed and fully equipped with computer access and a broadband connection. That’s as it should be. I’ve seen some providers charging for broadband access lately. That should be a staple of whatever package you buy.

Officescape also offers other services, like its Telework Center and Officescape Enterprise. Officescape has done well to offer something at all levels of demand. But its Office on Demand platform is one of the most flexible, well-communicated offerings I’ve seen on the market.

This is a great concept. I know it’s not new. Officescape rolled it out last year. But this is clearly a serviced office space and meeting room model that’s been accepted by its customer base, or that Officescape’s research shows would be welcomed in new markets. I’d be interested to learn the adoption of this on demand office rental paradigm and if it’s more popular in some countries than others.

The on-demand office space is brilliant. I am sure it was a well received offering for people who need to rent offices in New York one week, California the next and China the week after.

On-demand office space takes the risk off of mobile professionals or even local entrepreneurs that can’t yet determine their ongoing needs. Once again, Officescape demonstrates its leadership in the serviced office market.

The on-demand services are brilliant for office space. I am not sure why all the companies in the serviced office industry don’t take this approach. Maybe more do than I know about, but at least they don’t communicate it this way.

Being able to rent temporary office space in whatever city you happen to be traveling in is something mobile professionals need to be aware of. Clever packages like this one cause the word to spread about readily available meeting rooms, conference space and offices.
