About Knoxville, Tennessee
Knoxville, TN is the third largest city in the state of Tennessee and the largest in east Tennessee with nearly 200,000 residents. The metropolitan area of Knoxville drastically expands that number to give it more than 650,000 residents over a fairly wide area.
As a result of its small centralized population, Knoxville executive office space is limited to a small handful despite its 650,000 inhabitants in the metro area. These options are mostly in a concentrated area West of downtown in and around the Cedar Bluff area.
Much of the strength of Knoxville’s economy is owed to scientific and engineering research with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, National Transportation Research Center and Tennessee Valley Authority’s proximity. The University of Tennessee at Knoxville also plays a prominent role in Tennessee’s economy. Knoxville is also at the junction of two interstates and centrally located in the eastern half of the United States, and therefore enjoys a significant number distribution and warehousing facilities in the area.
