Chicago, Illinois is the third largest city in the US with nearly 3 million residents. The metropolitan area of Chicago, dubbed “Chicagoland”, has nearly 10 million residents and includes people in the states of llinois, Wisconsin and Indiana.
Chicago has 4 main sections, downtown, North Side, South Side and West Side (East Side is in the lake). It is one of the wealthiest cities in the US and is an important global financial center with 3 exchanges — the Chicago Stock Exchange, the Chicago Board Options Exchange and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The Chicago metro area is home to over 30 fortune 500 companies.
